There are truly of the best Belgian waffles we have ever eaten. Crunchy and really easy to make, and of course the waffles are extremely delicious. Whether they are meant for dessert, brunch, breakfast or supper.

The name may suggest otherwise however it is not to difficult to make Belgian waffles. And I guarantee, they will be one of the best waffles you have ever had, if not the most yummy ones. There is a chance that waffle iron machine will be used more frequently in your kitchen.

Number of portions will get depends on the size of the waffle iron you will be using. From the proportions I gave you in the ingredients section of this waffle recipe I get 10 waffles. If need more for we double the proportions.

Belgian Waffles Recipe



  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups milk

In a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients, such us: flour, baking powder, sugar and pinch of salt
Next step would be to separate eggs, you know yolks from whites
Add milk, oil and yolks to dry ingredients and give it a good mix; the mixture should be slightly thicker to the one used for pancakes (pretty runny);
In the meantime pre-heat the waffle iron;
Beat the egg whites and add to the mixture; Stir in slightly, no too much so the air remains in the mixture, then your Belgian waffles will be even more puffy and tasty;
Pour the mixture onto the waffle maker and bake until golden

Recipe Tip: I like my waffles sweet, as my kids love them by their own ( without any additional toppings, i.e. whipped cream, strawberry sauce, ice cream or chocolate sauce ) so they are pretty sweet. You may reduce the amount of sugar to 1/4 of cup so they will be perfect for sweet toppings.

  1. how much milk do we use? there wasn’t milk in the ingredients

  2. Yes. I guess that was too obvious for me. We use 2 cups of milk.
